Along the way, he must also deal with his demons as well as the advances of a pesky reporter who seems to be more interested in his story than in helping him save the city.

Sgt. Kabukiman, N.Y.P.D. is a rare superhero film that is both funny and action-packed. Moranis is perfectly cast as the hapless everyman who suddenly finds himself with extraordinary abilities, and the film’s humor comes mainly from his fish-out-of-water attempts at using them effectively.

The action scenes are surprisingly well done for a low-budget comedy, and there are lots of laughs to be had throughout the film’s 90-minute runtime.

Revenge of the Red Fury, Antboy II (2015)
