The premier of Titan season 4 will feature two episodes to be streaming officially on the announced release date.
Superhero media is on the rise, especially in the last decade, when big studios recognize the potential of capitalizing on the fandom and superhero craze amongst people worldwide, not just in the U.S.
Well, we are not complaining for sure! As a fan, we have gotten more comic book adaptations in the past decade than ever, and with MCU and DCEU’s yearly plans with both movie and T.V. series, it doesn’t seem to be stopping or even slowing down.
Then, there are other superhero shows of high popularity that are not from Marvel or D.C., like The Boys and The Umbrella Academy, etc which are doing good as well.
With all this, fans finally got one of the fan-favorite D.C. stories, a set of heroes finally getting their spotlight named Titans.
They marked their debut conceptually or in the comics back in 1964 in a comic book titled The Brave and the Bold bringing heroes like Kid Flash, Robin, Aqua-lad, and others, basically all the teenage sidekicks of great superheroes from Justice League.
Teen Titans does face some difficulties with its publishers. This also clarifies why it took so many years to get a live-action debut on this.
The first one was the animated cartoon show back released in 2003, which fans and younger audiences also loved.
Since then, we have been waiting for Titan’s live-action season 4 to stream. Quite a long road but a fruitful one.
The third and the last season that aired was said to be the best Titan season and seemingly getting better with each season.
So, let’s dive into what we know about Titans season 4, its plot, cast, trailer, news, and any other recent updates.
Who Are Cast Members In Titans Season 4?
Titans is a critically acclaimed fan-favorite show that heavily focuses on its ensemble cast, mainly those who are playing the Titan characters.
The primary characters in the show and the performances and energy they bring into the play are one of the strongest suits of the series.
So, the show’s pillar characters are returning, reprising their characters.
A major one is Brenton Thwaites, who plays Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing, in the show. Then along with him, we are getting Anna Diop as Starfire and Teagan Croft as Raven.
Other crucial members of the team and regulars of the show are Tim Drake, who plays Beast Boy, also coming back.
There were new additions in seasons 2 and 3 who now become the regular and primary members of Titans, such as Joshua Orpin playing Conner Kent, aka Superboy, and Tim Drake, soon to become the next Robin, will also be there.
Red Hood, or formally Robin, aka Jason Todd, played Curran Walters, will also be coming back in the show, but since his last stand with the team was unclear, it will be interesting to see his role in the series now.
This season, there is a solid new cast with remarkable characters coming alive from the comics, like Lex Luthor, played by Titus Welliver, who you might know from The Town.
And Josh Morgan, famously from The Originals will be playing Sebastian Blood aka Brother Blood in this season of Titan, as a new addition to their cast/character.
Then, we also see Frank Potente and Lisa Ambalavnar playing the characters of Mother mayhem and Jinx, respectively, in the trailers so they will be an essential part of the show.
With such great addition to the cast this season, and a new plot, it seems showrunner and executive producer of the series Greg Walker is aiming to make this season even better than the earlier ones and that says a lot because earlier one is known to be the best Titan season ever!
What’s The Titans Season 4 Plot?
This is what the official synopsis of the Titan season 4 reads :
“Having saved Gotham, the Titans hit the road to head back to San Francisco. But after a stop in Metropolis, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a supernatural cult with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before.”
What is interesting to take away from this official synopsis is that whoever villain we are getting in this season will be the toughest and most challenging for Titans to face.
And it is confirmed that Sebastian Blood is going to be the main antagonist of the Titans season 4, where Joseph Morgan is the one to play the big bad again, after his famous character Klaus Mikaelson with, who is mainly known.
Joseph Morgan tweeted about his character and journey, which will be interesting to see in this season.
He described his character as dark, damaged, vengeful, and seems to be a full cup of tea for Joseph Morgan.
It will be interesting to see the arc of a character who is the antagonist and, described by Joseph in his words, reads, “After this past week of shooting #DCTitans, I’m convinced you guys are going to really appreciate the journey Sebastian Blood goes on. It’s absolutely your cup of tea. Dark. Damaged. Emotional. Vulnerable. And Vengeful. So very vengeful.”
At the end of season 3, there was no nod or tease to the next villain for the upcoming show season; instead, the primary focus was to wrap up the existing storyline that was going on for quite some time.
So, season 3 also spent some time tying up the leave ends, the characters, and overall storylines that were sown in the early seasons or even the very pilot season.
The overall victory of these heroes proved the true Superhero story traditionally, i.e., good vs. evil. In D.C.’s style, the heroes could find their morality back at the end.
Titans Season 4 Trailer
Luckily we have the trailer released for Titans Season 4 to get a fair grasp of what’s coming in the upcoming season.
The Titans Season 4 trailer was released on 20th October by HBO Max on their Youtube channel. Here’s for you to watch :
What really can be seen for sure in this season is that it will be all new journeys, conflicts, and plot lines to be explored.
As we mentioned earlier, season 3 did a good job tying up loose ends of sub-plots, interpersonal conflicts, and character journeys that were started at the beginning of the pilot season or mainly in the second one.
So, this trailer sets the perfect mood for the show to be set up entirely in a new light where Titans seem more stable as a team and are together and looking forward to this unknown mysterious evil.
The imagery in the trailer also blends the horror and thriller elements into the superhero genre, making it not just another superhero show but something fresh.
The most exciting part of the trailer has to be the introduction of Lex Luther, played by Titus Welliver and known as one of the most infamous villains of the D.C. universe.
Then, another exciting part is the introduction of Joseph Morgan as Sebastian Blood, yet to have become thought. His look in the show seems excellent, and it will be interesting to see his journey from this innocent-looking guy to a villain.
Also, Lex Luther seems to be teaming up with the Church of Blood. In live action, we have actually seen Sebastian Blood earlier in the Arrowverse, played by Kevin Alejandro. However, not explore the alter ego side of ‘Brother Blood’ much.
Bringing Lex and Sebastian Blood into the world of Titans is going to turn up the heat for this barely broken team last season who came to fight together at the end.
It seems since then; they have been trying to face their own demons and get out of their conflicts to grow.
Titans Season 4 Release Date And Where To Steam
The Titans show was initially aired on the D.C. Universe subscription platform, which is now obsolete anyway. It gets moved to HBO Max for season 3.
So, again the Titans season 4 will be released or streaming on HBO Max only. Season 4 of the show was officially announced to be streaming on HBO Max at the 2021 DC FanDome convention.
And now fans finally get their prayers answered when it is revealed that the first and second episodes of season 4 will be released on 3rd November 2022 on HBO Max.
After that, the audience will see weekly episodes dropped down of the show until 1st December 2022, and the additional six episodes will be further released in 2023.
What About the Titans/Stargirl Crossover?
Brass Brassinger, the Stargirl actor, recently posted a behind-the-scene photo on her Twitter where she is in her Stargirl costume along with Ryan Potter, who plays Beast Boy in Titans.
We can also see the director Eric Dean Seaton in the frame, who is known for directing the many episodes from Arrowverse along with the Stargirl producer Geoff Johns.
Here’s what she wrote in her tweet, along with her photo teasing the new Arrowverse crossover between Stargirl and Titans “Omg, so crazy running into my friends in Toronto. Such a crazy coincidence. CrAzy.”
So far, we know that the filming for Stargirl season 3 is wrapped up, whereas Titans are heading over for its fourth season on HBO Max.
So, Break Brassinger’s Courtney Whitmore, aka Stargirl, will appear as a guest star in one of the Titans episodes.
Apart from these two shows, there have yet to be any confirmations of any other Arrowverse shows to be involved in this crossover.
Also, is this going to be the last Arrowverse crossover? That won’t be the case because more potential crossovers can happen, and even some have already been set up.
Like at the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths, released in 2020, showed the Arrowverse/CWverse version of Justice League.
Also, Melissa Benoist, the Supergirl actor, showed interest in putting on her cape again. And The Flash is still coming back for its final season next year. So, he might be the one to pull another big crossover, hosting this new rustic league, including Superman, Supergirl, White Canary, Martian Manhunter, Batwoman, Black Lightning, and Flash as well.
They may find a way to bring back Arrow as a surprise in some way, even for the time being. Like Arrow’s show went with a big bang crossover, Flash might deserve one too.
