The next scene shows Chuck in a hotel room at night, talking to Kelly on the phone as she prepares for bed.
The film flashes back to show us how their relationship started; then, it shows them parting at the airport before he boarded his flight.
Meanwhile, on board the plane, we see a man named Wilson who is sitting in first class and chatting with two flight attendants about what they’ll be doing when they land in Honolulu. We also see Helen Hunt’s character getting ready for her trip by putting on makeup and listening to music before she boards her flight as well.
