Tom Felton Would Consider To Return For Potential Harry Potter Sequel

Tom Felton who is famously known for his unforgettable role in the Harry Potter movie series as Draco Malfoy, the blonde arch-nemesis of Harry Potter at Hogwarts.

The actor was casted for the first film in the series, Harry Potter and the Philsopher’s Stone when this new fantasy wizarding world was first brought live to the big screen, making one of the biggest franchises ever.

After that, needless to say, how successful the franchise has become, the fandom still continues even after a decade past of the movies.

The Harry Potter franchise is adapted from the book series of the same name written by J.K Rowling who also took part in the making of these movies as well.

Fans have been speculating about a Harry Potter sequel or spin-off for quite some time. Even though we did get Fantastic Beasts, another series from the Harry Potter world, the sequel is still more to be expected where fans can see their favourite characters.

Tom Felton was a significant part of the Harry Potter saga playing an essential character in the series, a character that people hated and loved, both.

He played the character of Malfoy, this icy-bonde hair, a bully and prejudiced, also coming from a rich family making him a spoilbrat.

However, his character grew more than that over time. And we started to see a more layered version of Draco Malfoy.

Even though Draco and Harry never became friends or even made peace in the movies, there were fleeting moments where they seem ‘not hating’ each other.

And that spoke to so many fan theories, demands and this idea for both to be friends, and to seem them making peace.

In fact, there is so much fan art of them being shipped together, which is certainly taking it too far.

The character continues to live in the Potterverse where in the end, we even see Malfoy being a father along with Harry, Ron and Hermione leaving their kids for Hogwarts train.

So, there is a possibility of his character bringing on if a potential sequel comes into the play.

And even fans will love to see Harry( Daniel Radcliffe) and Draco ( Tom Felton) making peace together or even fighting side by side this time.

Tom Felton reacted on whether he would return for the sequel or a spin-off, sharing a positive response, saying that he would consider for sure.

The actor is soon going to release his new book titled Beyond the Wand: The Magic & Mayhem of Groing Up a Wizard – basically documenting his life spent on the movie sets and overall production.

Felton actually mentions this in his books that he would consider reprising his character in the Harry Potter world if ever a decision to be made on some sequel to the films.

Here’s what exactly he quoted :

“I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t consider it. I definitely don’t miss Draco Malfoy, but I am very affectionately linked to him. It seemed, looking back at it now that Potter would be the only thing in my life. But there were many, many things ahead of that.”

Tom further shared about his personal struggles and also how his co-star Emma Watson who played Hermione Granger in Harry Potter movies encouraged him to talk about it and be open about it.

He shared how some people have encouraged him with Emma Watson to be particular, to tell his whole story, rather than cherry-picking the fluff pieces from here and there. He said :

“I was encouraged by a few people, Emma Watson specifically, to tell the whole story and not just sort of cherry-pick the fluffy bits. Not just because it was cathartic for me. But also in the hope that sharing those parts of my story will help others that are maybe not going through the best time.”

Tom Felton and Emma Watson have been a great co-start together, and develop a strong friendship ever since they started working on the films with each other.

Emma Watson also admitted that at the beginning, she even had a bit of a crush on Tom Felton. Well, they do get shipped together a lot by Potterheads.

Even though Draco Malfoy gets the total screen time of 31 minutes in the eight movies of the franchise, his character is so popular, distinctive and detailed.

There is so much of character arc we have seen in Draco Malfoy since the first movie, also his relationship to Harry became not exactly that much spiteful.

His character, in fact, saved Harry once or twice or helped him in some way. Harry did the same as well by saving him and his friends in Deathly Hallows.
