Sony Announced A New ‘Karate Kid’ Movie & Other Changes In Release Dates

After the success of The Karate Kid spin-off series, Cobra Kai with fifth season streaming on Netflix, Sony seems to revive the Original ‘Karate Kid’ franchise.

This will be accounted as the return of the Original Karate Kid franchise, not the 2010 released reboot with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith

Well, you have to say thanks to Netflix series Cobra Kai to keep the Original Karate Kid franchise breathing in the television/streaming space.

So, this upcoming new ‘Karate Kid’ project seems to be the fifth film in the Original Karate Kid franchise and the first one after the reboot we got in 2010 starring Jaden Smith.

So far there is no information regarding the plot of the film or any other details such as casting or crew, only the announcement from the production house.

Sony Pictures isn’t just adding new movies to the theatrical release slate of 2023-2024 but also shifting some expected release and putting it on delay as well.

What’s good is that we aren’t getting any push-offs in 2022 movies, shifting impacts only that to be released in 2023-24.

Another big move is Madame Web, the Spider-Man spin-off movie that shifted its release from October 6, 2023 to Feb 16, 2024. This film is one of the highly anticipated superhero movies featuring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney.

Kraven the Hunter, another movie from Spider-man universe featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson is pushed to be released on Oct 6, 2023 instead of Jan 13, 2023.
