One of the best and highly acclaimed animated films from Pixar, Inside Out is getting its sequel.
Pixar officially announced Inside Out 2 at the D23 Expo on Friday, which will be helmed by director Kesly Mann.
They have a pretty impressive record when it comes to bringing good stories through animation in the form of feature films, but this time they also revealed their plans to release a TV series, first time in the history of their company.
Indeed the biggest news was the sequel to the movie Inside Out but it is good to know that there will be an episodic form of storytelling coming from Pixar as well. More on that, later.
The company has announced about the ‘reimaginnings’ just two hours before their Inside Out sequel announcement.
Inside Out 2 will be again, about Riley’s mind where Amy Poehler and Joy as well were there to make the announcement.
There are rumours that Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader will not be returning to the movie in the sequel but overall there is no news of additiona in the cast so far.
Amy Pohler did talk about that since Riley became a teenager now, the emotions and feelings in her head will change, so there will be new emotions as well.
Inside Out was the movie released in 2015, directed by Peter Docter featuring voices such as Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith, Mindy Kaling, Richard Kind, Kyle MacLachlan, Lewis Black, Kaityln Dias and Diane Lane.
The film has recieved great appreciation from critics as well as the audience, still known to be one of the best animated movies so far.
Inside Out was all about Riley being in her toddler phase trying to learn how her emotions work and manage them.
There were primarily five emotions that were personified in the film : happiness, fear, disgust, anger and sadness.
Riley, who has been supressing her sadness as the personified emotions in her head were trying to keep her happy, eventually came to know Riley has to face her sadness, and go through all the emotions to be truly happy and content.
In this second installment, Riley will be in her teenage years which is only going to make things complex and more chaotic in her head.
A 15 year old girl certainly goes through hormonal changes in her body and mind, so there will be a lot going on.
Also, adolscene is a time when your emotions are most heightened and hay-wired, so there will be new emotions for sure creating new types of problems.
