Stranger Things ended with something of a mixed emotion, quite like how fans felt after the infinity war.
There was a mixed feeling of losing and winning at the cost of tragedies in the story. There was just too much to bear when you parted your ways with the characters.
Worst part is some of them aren’t coming back and perhaps the most beloved new addition to the cast of Stranger Things, Eddie died at the end of season 4.
It came out as quite a shock and tragic, making fans sob and mourn for this barely introduced character as compared to other characters which we have been seeing for so long.
The last season of this horror sci-fi series witnessed the attack of Vecna as he tries to connect the upside down with the real world.
We saw a lot in season 4, the relationship troubles between friends, Eleven struggling to regain her power and accept the truth she has been hiding so long, Joye and Murray saving Hopper from the Russian Gulag, a lot actually!
Stranger Things 4 was much more grand in its scale and also when it comes to adding new characters into the mix.
There was criticism towards adding too many characters towards almost the end of the show which might become hectic to manage.
But so far the character added become the favourites, and one of the them for this season was indeed Eddie Muson played by Joseph Quinn.
This eccentric leader of the group Dungeons and Dragons caught up in all the mystery going on when he became the primary suspect of the murder of the first victim of Vecna.
The whole town as well as the police put him the blame for all the Vecna killings in the town making him a runaway.
Towarsd the end fans started loving this character for many reasons among one of them was his chemistry with Dustin.
After his demise in the end of the season 4 where he bravely sacrified himself to protect the world from the takeover, there has been lot of talks about his comeback.
Perhaps this is audience’way to deal with death of ther favourite character and them not letting go because there was no news regarding his comeback came officially from the makers.
Still, there has been a lot of theorizing going on about his comeback but finally all put the end when Shawn Levy, producer of the show, clarified this doubt for once and all.
In his talk with The Hollywood Reporter, he responded on the fan theories about the return of Eddie in Stranger Things Season 5.
But unfortunately, bad news for fans who were hoping for some sign or atleast a mixed up answer, get this direct and blunt ‘highly unlikely’ from him.
Here’s what Shawn Levy said on Eddie’s return in season 5 :
[Laughs] “Oh boy, a lot of people – a lot of people – can’t even handle the thought of a Season 5 without some excuse for Eddie’s presence. Highly unlikely. Highly unlikely. But we hear you, world. We know. You’re obsessed with Eddie. So were we.”
Taking the account of the show’s popular trend to kill fan-favourite characters in Stranger Things whether it was Barb in season 1 or Bob in season 2 or even Alexei in Season 3, fans were already speculating about the death of some good character in season 4.
And Eddie being charismatic and relatable, perhaps the most entertaining character in Strangers Things after Dustin, has an even higher chance to die in season 4.
In recent interview with Esquire Singapore talked about how watching himself in Stranger Things with big wig and American accent was a unique experience.
With Eddie, it was a very weird experience because obviously, I had this big wig on and I was trying to do my best American accent. So there was this kind of physical and role difference at the same time.”
He further talked about how it was even more interesting to see how other cast doing their work, said “But the best experience from watching Stranger Things was watching what everyone else had done, you know? Because there were so many different stories and it was lovely watching the work that David [Harbour], Winona [Ryder] and Brett [Gelman] had been doing and watching the California storyline. It was great to see it all come together.”
Well, it is going to be a quite a while for Stranger Things season 5 to drop which will be the final chapter of the show.
The end of the season 5 shown characters getting together only to find out that upside down, the alternative world is collapsing with theirs affecting everything.
This record-breaking Netflix show is finally going to meet its end but it still yet to even start filming. Stranger Things writers have been actively updating every once in a while as the script in still in production.
Matt Duffer with an interview with TVLine confirmed that the Stranger Things season 5 story and plot is still underway.
He said “I’m not sure we’re ready to say yet a start date for shooting. But a lot of it is pretty well mapped out.”The release dates are still under the wraps, so we have to wait for more information to drop in soon.
